| Core Faculty | Core Community Studies Faculty | The professors most closely associated with the Community Studies Group within the HOD Department at Peabody College. The Community Studies Group consists of the CDA and CRA programs. |
| CRA | Community Research and Action | The Ph.D. program housed in the HOD Department. |
| CDA | Community Development Action | One of the M.Ed. programs housed in the HOD Department. |
| HDC | Human Development Counseling | One of the M.Ed. programs housed in the HOD Department. |
| HOD | Human Organizational Development | The department within Peabody that houses the CDA program. |
| LPO | Leadership, Policy & Organizations | The department within Peabody College that houses several degree programs; CDA students often fulfull electives and skill requirements through courses offered by this department. |
| M.Ed. | Master of Education | The degree earned in the CDA program. |
| POS | Program of Studies | Lists all courses and other requirements the student expects to complete and projects the time frame in which they will be completed. |
| RA | Research Assistant | Reasearch assistantships provide a stipend to students for work performed on research and demonstration grants. |
| TA | Teaching Assistant | Teaching assistanships provide a stipend to students for assuming teaching and administrative responsibilites in the department. |
| CCS | Center for Community Studies | The Center for community Studies is a research, dissemination, outreach and capacity-building group dedicated to strengthening human community, made up of six work groups which facilitate collaboration among researchers and practitioners on different topic areas. |
