The Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Peabody College is a world class academic research and professional preparation organization concerned with understanding and enhancing the social and institutional context in which human learning takes place.
LPO is home to over 30 faculty members whose research and teaching vary across multiple fields and disciplines. From Sociology to Economics, Political Science to Management, our professors apply theories derived from these disciplines to a range of settings, both practical and research focused.
The Peabody Journal of Education is a national research journal addressing issues of K–12 and higher education. It is published quarterly by Taylor & Francis Publishing Group. Learn more about the journal's editorial policies and board.
Politics of Education Association
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.
AERA is the most prominent international professional organization with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application. Its 20,000 members are educators; administrators; directors of research, testing, or evaluation in federal, state, and local agencies; counselors; evaluators; graduate students; and behavioral scientists.
