Peabody Council
Mission
To take an active role in student government issues, which will lead to positive change for Peabody and the Vanderbilt community. To uphold Peabody's traditions and to participate in the Vanderbilt and Nashville communities.
Vision
That Peabody students will use the Peabody Council as their voice in student government, as a means to become more involved in community service and other Peabody activities, and as a foundation for becoming a more unified student body/Peabody family.

Events we've held/participated in last year
Had a Peabody Council group Move Crew to help move freshmen into their new homes
Spoke at Freshmen Orientation to invite the class of 2010 to join Peabody Council
Hosted a faculty/student lunch on the Peabody Lawn to encourage interaction outside the classroom
Participated in Vanderbuddies Playday, decorating Halloween trick-or-treat bags with children
Other goals for the year
Assist with disaster relief from Hurricane Katrina
Host a successful Hanging of the Green
Share our mission/vision with the student body through publicity and fun student events
Hold a forum or town hall meeting to gather student opinions and concerns
Participate in more community service activities
Organize a blood drive in the spring
Create fun activities that get Peabody students involved
