Peabody Student Affairs assists Peabody undergraduate students as they progress through academic programs and student life. The office helps students make connections in the larger Vanderbilt community by offering referrals and happily answering questions or addressing concerns.

Ellen M. Brier, Ed.D., Assistant Dean for Student Affairs
Dean Ellen Brier directs the Peabody Student Affairs office. She received her doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University, focusing on Higher Education Administration and History. Before coming to Vanderbilt, she taught and administered programs at Tennessee State University, Syracuse University, University of Illinois at Chicago, and SUNY. She has published numerous articles and book chapters, and co-authored a book on professional writing. She came to Vanderbilt in 1992, and has served as assistant dean for Peabody Student Affairs since 1999.

April facilitates the many activities of the Student Affairs Office. She also assists undergraduate and graduate prospective students through the admissions process.
