NOTE: The wait list feature is only available during the first week of a fall or spring term during the change period.
Students who are seeking entrance into closed courses must use the OASIS registration program and place themselves on the wait list for the closed course. The following steps outline the procedure for wait listing a course:
You must always use the command "WAIT" followed by the course subject area, course number and section, then press the enter key.
If you have not been conditionally enrolled, every time you use the update command you are given a new twenty-four hour period to remain on the wait list.
If you still wish to be in the course, answer the question affirmatively. Press enter and you will be enrolled.
You may need to use the REMOVE command if you are waitlisted in a section other than the one you are trying to add. Otherwise, the system will not let you add a different open section.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Departments and faculty will periodically check the wait lists. If you have not followed the wait list procedure, your chances of getting into closed courses are greatly diminished.
2. Wait lists end the day before the end of the official change period. The last day of the change period is on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Many classes will open up on the last day but it is best to be prepared with an alternate plan if you aren't registered for a full course load. Students may not add classes the last day of the change period. A grade of "W" will also be assigned for all courses dropped after the published date for the end of the change period
3. The staff in the Peabody Registrar's Office cannot register you for closed courses.
4. If an instructor states that they will put you in their closed course, check to make sure this is done on OASIS before the Change Period ends. You may wish to e-mail the instructor as to the status of your enrollment in the class if you are not showing registered on OASIS by early morning on the last day to add a course.
Questions on the wait-list process should be directed to the Peabody Office of Records and Registration at (615) 322-8400.
