Registration instructions for Master's, Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), and Special Students
The following steps must be taken to finalize your student status and register online:
1. If you are a new student, confirm your admission with the Office of Graduate Admissions. You may either mail the response card that was included with your letter of admission or you may respond by email to Peabody.admissions@vanderbilt.edu.
2. You must activate your VUnetID and create an E-Password.
3. You must establish your Vanderbilt email account when activating your VUnetID and E-Password. The University will use your Vanderbilt email account for all electronic correspondence. You may forward your Vanderbilt email account to another email provider but you will be expected to read all email correspondence that comes to your Vanderbilt email account from Vanderbilt administration, faculty, and staff.
4. All new students must complete the Graduate and Professional Student Charge Account Agreement form. This form should be returned to the address for the Office of Student Accounts listed on the bottom of the form.
5. Instructions for setting up the Online Access to Student Information System (OASIS) registration program on your computer:
a. Using your Web browser, go to http://www.vanderbilt.edu/resnet/ssh/index.html, and download and install the secure OASIS client for your operating system.
b. Once installed, start the OASIS client on your computer. You will be automatically logged into the server. Enter your VUnet ID and E-password.
c. You are now in OASIS. Follow the instructions on the screen and the OASIS instruction sheet on this Web site to add the courses that you wish to take.
6. The OASIS Registration program may give you a conflict message if you select courses in different summer sessions that meet on the same days and times. If this occurs, please email Robert Dauphinee, Registrar's Assistant, and he will enter the course(s) that you are not able to enter because of the system perceived conflict.
7. Weekend courses meet Friday from 4:10 until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. We have made the meeting times TBA on OASIS to avoid the conflict difficulty when you register.
8. You must finalize your registration by completing and submitting the Registration Data Form below. The Registration Data Form submission is what flags you as officially attending for each term and signals the Office of Student Accounts to disburse any loan funds when classes begin. A Registration Data Form must be submitted for each term before the first day of classes.
SELECTING YOUR COURSES
The On-line Schedule of Classes is located at the following Vanderbilt web address: https://webapp.mis.vanderbilt.edu/CourseListing/MasterSchedule . This is updated nightly with late additions, deletions and changes. Select the term that you wish to view, the school, and then the subject area.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
If you register and need to make a schedule change after registration closes but before your first class begins, you may email Robert Dauphinee with the changes you wish to make. A green "Change of Course Card" must be completed to change your schedule after classes have been in session for one week. Green cards are available in the Peabody Registrar's Office, 216 Administration Building. Refer to the university academic calendar for deadlines for dropping or adding courses.
WITHDRAWAL
If you register and decide not to attend, you must notify the Registrar's office in writing before classes begin to be entitled to a full refund of tuition and fees.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
Students should check the address that Vanderbilt has listed for you is correct. All mailings will be sent to your local address as shown in the system. Many new students will not have a Nashville local address until moving here. At whatever point you change your local address, you must use this Web site to make changes to the Vanderbilt system.
PAYMENT OF TUITION AND FEES
Information on housing, tuition, and fees is included in your registration mailing. Student insurance is mandatory during the summer unless you complete the Insurance Waiver form online. The insurance waiver must be completed each fall semester. You may visit the Student Accounts Web site for more information.
VANDERBILT STUDENT ID CARDS
When you arrive on campus for summer courses, go to the Vanderbilt Card Office, 184 Sarratt Student Center, to have your Vanderbilt picture ID card made. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A student identification card is necessary to access many facilities including the library, dining, and recreation center.
INDEPENDENT STUDY/VARIABLE CREDIT COURSE REGISTRATION
Students wishing to register for variable credit courses, including independent study, selected internship or practicum, reading and research, field work/experience, or special project must complete and submit an "Individual Learning Contract" to the Peabody Records Office no later than the end of the change period. Courses, excluded from this category, are listed below.
