Registering for Courses Using OASIS

OASIS is Vanderbilt University's On-line Access to Student Information System. Please follow these steps to register for courses with OASIS:

1. Get your e-password if you do not have one and go to www.vanderbilt.edu/secureoasis to download the software program that will allow you to access OASIS with your E-password in a secure environment. Call the ITS help desk at 343-1631 for assistance if needed.

2. When you get on OASIS you will be asked to enter your VunetID and then you will enter your E-password.

3. You will then reach a sub-menu. Choose Registration

4. Select the term for which you are registering

5. The first time you get into the registration program you will be notified of your anticipated date of graduation.

6. If you have not registered for anything and you are an undergraduate student, you will be prompted to enter your "Adviser Approval Code" - you must get this code from your adviser.

7. At this point you will see a registration screen. You may proceed with registering for your desired classes

8. Common commands you will use while registering:

• ADD - to add a course (example: ADD EDUC 3060 01 - then return)
• DROP - to drop a course (example: DROP EDUC 3060 01 - then return)
• CHANGE - to switch sections of a course (CHANGE EDUC 3060 01 02)
• PF- to declare a course pass/fail ((The first week of a term) (PF HUM 240 01) )
• CONVERT - to change a course from a PF grade type to a regular grade. This command is available until the last day to drop a course in a term (CONVERT HUM 240 01)
• SHOW - to display available sections of a particular course, showing various section meeting days and times (SHOW SPED 3000)
• SHOW OPEN to display open courses in a discipline (SHOW OPEN HOD)
• SHOW WEEK - shows grid of daily class meeting times

USE A SLASH ( / ) TO DISPLAY YOUR SCHEDULE (You will need to use this command after using the SHOW command, in order to see your schedule again.)

AFTER YOU REGISTER, YOU MUST EXIT THE PROGRAM - TYPE:

• QUIT - to exit your personal screen
• PRESS 3 - to exit the OASIS program
• CLOSE the registration window
