Special Education Researchers Receive Grants from NICHD, IES; Seethaler Wins CEC Award
The Department of Special Education announces full-time and part-time funding for training persons to work with children identified as having emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD). This master's program in Academic Excellence for Students with Emotional Disturbance is a four-year project designed to train new and existing teachers in the current instructional methods for meeting the academic needs of children with EBD.
This program consists of course work tied to actual application in public school classrooms and intensive summer workshops in academic interventions. The department will be accepting applications for six full-time and three part-time students for the 2005/2006 academic year. In order to be considered for funding from a federally funded training grant, students must be citizens of the U.S. or permanent residents.
Inquiries regarding the application process should be made to our admissions coordinator, Jennifer Hinton, at 615-322-8195. Specific information regarding this grant can be made to Joseph Wehby, Project Director.
