Tuition
Teachers will pay for the Vanderbilt tuition when they register for each ELL course. The graduate tuition rate is currently $1,071 per credit hour, and is expected to stay at this rate until Fall 2009. Tuition increases will likely occur at that time. If a sufficient number of MNPS teachers enroll, Vanderbilt will grant an award to cover 10 percent of tuition for ELL courses.
To Apply
As part of your application, you will be asked to specify the semester you wish to enter and the degree sought. Choose Summer 2009 and Special, Non-degree.
You will not have to supply a GRE or TOFEL score but will have to supply a copy of your college transcripts. Recommendations are not required for your application for the ELL Endorsement.
If you have questions about the online application, please contact our Office of Graduate Admissions at (615) 322-8410 or peabody.admissions@vanderbilt.edu.
THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS APRIL 15, 2009, BUT YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY EARLY.
Additional
Teachers who wish to take additional Vanderbilt courses or enroll in degree programs beyond the ELL endorsement should apply through the normal admissions process. Courses taken can be applied to graduate work in many other programs, however, teachers who wish to have all ELL courses apply toward a Vanderbilt master's degree must complete the standard application procedure before completing nine credit hours. As degree-seeking students, MNPS teachers may be eligible for scholarships, stipends, grants, or other forms of financial aid.
