The PTSC works closely with Vanderbilt’s Information Technology Support (ITS) Software Store to provide software to our community at the lowest available prices. University-wide buying volume allows ITS to negotiate very advantageous prices. In addition, many enterprise-wide packages are available at no cost to Vanderbilt offices, students, faculty, and staff by downloading from the ITS site. We also practice due diligence to ensure that all software loaded on college-owned computers is legally licensed and appropriate for use by our patrons. Faculty and staff needing to have additional software installed on college-owned should contact their Local Support Provider (LSP). Charges for additional software licenses will be borne by the user's department, office, or center.
The PTSC loads and configures software on all college-owned computers. Computers in offices and other work areas are loaded with email clients, internet browsers, anti-virus/anti-spyware software, and standard productivity tools. Other software is loaded as needed.
