Admissions Checklist
A completed application for admission includes the following:
- Completed online or paper application forms (3 pages)
- Application fee (waived for online applications)
- Scan and attach your unofficial transcript(s) from prior undergraduate and graduate work on page 2 of the application. Official transcripts are required only AFTER an offer of admission is made and accepted. If you cannot upload an unofficial transcript, official paper transcripts may be submitted by mail.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation: Recent graduates should have at least two letters of recommendation from college or university faculty with whom they have studied

Admissions test scores:
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are required for all Ph.D., Ed.D., M.Ed., and M.P.P. programs.
- GRE Format Update - The format for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) changed on August 1, 2011. The revised General Test Scores will be reported beginning in November 2011. View the detailed score reporting schedule. We recommend that applicants for Summer and Fall 2012 take the GRE in the new format. If you have previously taken the GRE and your scores are still valid, they will be accepted. For more information regarding the changes, please visit the ETS website or read through their FAQs.
- A Miller Analogies Test (MAT) may be submitted instead of the GRE for the M.Ed. programs in the departments of Special Education and Teaching and Learning and the Human Development Counseling program.
International applicants:
- TOEFL scores are required if you are an international applicant, unless English is your first language or you have completed a degree at an American university.
- The International Student Financial Statement is required. You may download this form at: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/isss/prostudents.html
- International students with degrees from non-U.S. institutions are required to have their transcripts evaluated by an approved credentials evaluation agency and to have an official report sent by the agency to the Graduate Admissions Office. The World Education Services (WES) is the preferred agency used by Peabody College.
Note: Other special credentials may be required by some programs.
