Welcome back to Peabody!
Whether you graduated last year, ten years ago, or before the merger with Vanderbilt University, we value you as members of the Peabody College community.
I’m sure you remember the first day that you arrived on the Peabody College campus. Perhaps it was the day you first visited campus for a tour or the day that you moved into the residence halls. Those memories seem to stay with us forever.
Over the years, Peabody College, now known as Vanderbilt’s Peabody College of education and human development, has maintained its excellence: our mission is characterized by practice-oriented academic programs, a strong service ethic, and a concern for pressing social problems. The College’s mission is to create a training ground for future leaders, cultivated by our faculty, visiting lecturers, alumni participation, and events that consider today’s critical issues.
We must continue to build on the existing spirit of our community, which is so effectively captured by our wonderful students. We must mold that spirit into an esprit de corps that is so robust that the resulting memories and friendships are so burnished and vivid that we carry them in the backs of our minds, wherever our pathways take us.
As alumni, you continue to astonish us with your ability to shape the lives in your communities. There are many ways for you to become involved with Peabody and we welcome your feedback and suggestions. Peabody is only as strong as the community who cares for its future.
Thank you in advance for your continued interest and support of Peabody College.
