Wallpaper
To use desktop pictures on your PC:
- Select the image size that best suits your computer's monitor resolution (i.e. 800x600, 1024x768, or 1280x1024). If you don't know the current resolution of your monitor, check the Displays Control Panel.
- Right-click on the link to the picture you'd like to download, and select "Save as Background" from the pop-up menu. The wallpaper will automatically appear on your monitor, completely filling the desktop. Or, if you'd like the wallpaper to appear as a smaller image on your desktop, not filling the entire screen:
- Right-click on the link to the picture you'd like to download, and select "Save Image to Disk" from the pop-up menu.
- Click on your Start menu, navigate to Settings, and then to Control Panels. Open the "Displays" Control Panel by double-clicking on it.
- Select the "Desktop" tab and click the "Browse" button. Locate the picture you downloaded and select it. Make sure the Display pull-down menu at the bottom of the window is set to "Center" and click the "Apply" button.
To use desktop pictures on your Mac with OS 9:
- Select the image size that best suits your computer's monitor resolution (i.e. 800x600, 1024x768, or 1280x1024). If you don't know the current resolution of your monitor, check the Appearance Control Panel.
- Control-click on the link to the picture you'd like to download, and select "Save Image to Disk" from the pop-up menu.
- Find and open the Appearance Control Panel in your System Folder. Click on the "Desktop" tab to display the current list of installed patterns.
- Click the small preview of your desktop to make the "Picture" button active. Click the "Place Picture" button to select your desktop picture. Locate the desired image, and select it.
- Click the "Set Desktop" button to apply the new picture to your desktop.
To use desktop pictures on your Mac with OS X:
- Select the image size that best suits your computer's monitor resolution (i.e. 800x600, 1024x768, or 1280x1024). If you don't know the current resolution of your monitor, check the Appearance Control Panel.
- Control-click on the link to the picture you'd like to download, and select "Save Image to Disk" from the pop-up menu.
- Place the downloaded picture in your Pictures folder.
- Open System Preferences and select Desktop.
- From the "Collection" pop-up menu, select "Pictures Folder," then select the image you downloaded from the row of preview images.
