Faculty Honors and Appointments
Researchers affiliated with the Center for Community Studies often work with government agencies, non-profit organizations, private-sector partners and grass-roots groups to define and address major societal challenges, providing objective analyses grounded in current research and best practices. As such, they serve as a ready institutional resource for community partners from the first steps of identifying problems and strengths through the final phase of evaluating the effectiveness of new policies, practices and initiatives.
The Center's community partners provide a valuable, front-line link to understanding the everyday challenges facing individuals and communities as they work toward finding solutions for such pressing problems as homelessness, inadequate health care and housing, and youth violence.
Representatives of local groups and agencies interested in finding out more about collaborating on projects with Center members are invited to contact Center Director Susan Saegert, susan.c.saegert@vanderbilt.edu or 615-322-6881.
