Short Biography
Vera's research interest focuses on career development over the life span and issues of cultural competency for health care organizations, particularly as it relates to partnerships between profits and nonprofits and between nonprofits with radically different histories and cultures. She has used the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance as a primary case-study model. Dr. Chatman focuses on issues of cultural competence, the relationship of diversity to strategic management, and health services for minority populations. The study of leadership and workforce development through historical and organizational changes in health care organizations is an ongoing area of interest.
