Introduction to Statistical Inference

Description:
This course is about the theory and practices underlying statistical analysis of data about individuals, groups, organizations, and policies. It focuses not only on the basic principles of statistical inference, but also on how statistical analysis is used to answer educational research and policy-related questions. An emphasis will be placed on understanding how data can be analyzed, interpreted, and reported, along with developing a reasonable level of competence in using the SPSS software. The course entails a mixture of lectures, problem sets, and in-class, guided examples of data analysis and interpretation. Fall. (3)
