Research interests include national and international racial/ethnic disparities in health, mental health, and health care; health policy; kinship care and caregiver strain, specifically related to the intergenerational roles of African American grandparents rearing their grandchildren; and the impact of Medicaid managed care on children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders and substance abuse problems. The National Institute of Mental Health's (NIMH) Mental Health Services Research Training Grant currently supports Kelly's research and education.
Kelly D. Taylor-Richardson is a pre-doctoral fellow in the Community Research and Action program in the Department of Human and Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University, Peabody College. A native Ohioan, Kelly completed her B.A. in Psychology and M.S.W. in Interpersonal Practice at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She received her MS in Community Research and Action from Vanderbilt University.
