ESL literacy and assessment

Professor Kim specializes in English as a Second Language (ESL) literacy, language learning, and assessment and multicultural teacher education. Her research focuses on design experiments in ESL learning and teaching. Specifically, she is interested in understanding ESL learners’ cognitive language learning strategies, and using them to design effective classroom instruction for young (K-3) students who are learning English as a Second Language.
