Michael Gaines

Computer Systems Administrator II

Michael brings more than 12 years of desktop, network, server, backup, and other system integration and support experience to the Peabody Technology Support Center. He serves in several capacities:

• assisting Ralph Knapp with the technical components of the college's websites
• providing overall administration of the desktop backup system
• serving as liaison to ITS for networking, email, and other enterprise systems
• providing second tier support for LSPs especially for Macintosh computers
• assisting with the supervision of open access labs and the development lab
• teaching short courses on various software packages and systems
• administering college-wide servers and mail-listservs
• assisting Ralph Knapp with Apple Reseller activities and supervision of the WC 130, 131, 132 lab complex
• and providing technical assistance to other center personnel including Manager Smokler
