Technology in Teacher Education
Melanie K. Hundley taught in suburban and rural schools in Georgia before pursuing a Ph. D. in Language and Literacy Education at the University of Georgia.
While at the University of Georgia, she coordinated the undergraduate English Education Program and worked with teachers at urban, suburban, and rural schools. She taught courses in lesson planning, young adult literature, technology for teachers, and teaching writing in secondary schools. She has seventeen years teaching experience in middle school, high school, and college levels. For three years, she worked for the Georgia Department of Education as part of its innovating Georgia Learning Connections program. As part of this program, she designed online unit plans, lesson plans and activities based on the state curriculum and state standards. She has taught created and taught professional development programs in technology, multigenre writing, writing across the curriculum, and literature for middle and high school faculty across the United States. She has also worked with the Red Clay Writing Project, part of the National Writing Project.
