Vanderbilt ranked #1 for faculty productivity in Special Ed, Education Evaluation; #2 in Psychology and Human Development and Community Research and Action

Vanderbilt Peabody College's programs in special education and education measurement and evaluation rank first in scholarly production among other departments at research universities in the United States, according to a new report. The Vanderbilt Psychology department ranked number two, as did the Community Research Action program in the department of Human and Organizational Development.

"These rankings affirm the college's high reputation in several disciplines," Camilla Benbow, Patricia and Rodes Hart Dean of Education and Human Development at Vanderbilt's Peabody College. "Our faculty in each of these areas is outstanding, and the data backs it up."

The report, the Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index, was released by Academic Analytics, based in Chester, Pa., on November 15 using data from 2006.

The Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index, developed by Lawrence Martin, dean of the graduate school and professor of anthropology at Stony Brook University, measures the scholarly productivity of faculty based on publications, citations and financial and honorary awards.
