Welcome to the Cognitive Studies Program

Students observe a child at play

I am very pleased to welcome you to the Cognitive Studies Program. With its focus on thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving, we anticipate that your participation in this program not only will teach you about our latest scientific understanding of these important topics, but also will help you hone your thinking and reasoning skills in a way that should put you at a competitive advantage, whatever career you pursue, in what is an increasingly dynamic and challenging job market. I also hope that during your participation in the program, perhaps even as early as the second semester of your first year, you will consider working individually with one of our faculty members on their cutting-edge research. High quality collaborative research between our students and faculty is a hallmark of the Cognitive Studies Program of which we are extremely proud.

This page contains links to all the information you should need to register, in an informed manner, for your first semester of coursework in the Cognitive Studies Program. I hope that you will find this information useful as you make you initial course selections for the Fall. If you find that you have any questions about your course selections, please feel free to contact me either by e-mail or phone. In the meantime, I would like to wish you the very best as you make your course selections, and I very much look forward to meeting you when you arrive on campus in August!
