Ashley A. Jones

Ashley Jones is a doctoral student in the department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations, focusing on K-12 Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
Most recently, she worked at a charter school in St. Louis, MO as a community outreach specialist on the social work team where she connected students with mental health, dental, and vision resources. She also closely tracked attendance and implemented programs to improve attendance and decrease tardies through incentive systems and increasing communication with families.
Prior to working at the charter school in St. Louis, Ashley worked in National Urban League’s Education and Youth Development Division, was an AmeriCorps VISTA with a local nonprofit in St. Louis, and worked with Salvation Army’s Social Services Department.
Ashley is interested in researching academic achievement gap closure for students of color and low SES students, specifically how implementing comprehensive social services within schools can impact racial disparities in academic achievement.
