Karen Anthony

Research Associate, Peabody Research Institute

Karen Anthony is a Research Associate at the Peabody Research Institute. Anthony received her Ph. D. from Vanderbilt University in Development, Learning, and Diversity from the Department of Teaching and Learning. She was a graduate student research assistant at PRI for several years during her Ph. D. program. Prior to attending Vanderbilt, she worked in secondary and postsecondary research and education reform.

Anthony's dissertation focused on young children’s self-regulation. She explored the relationships between children’s entering language skills, their classroom learning behaviors, and their self-regulation development.

While at PRI, Anthony has worked on a number of projects, including a randomized control trial of a pre-kindergarten mathematics curriculum, a self-regulation measurement study, and the Tools of the Mind study. She is currently working as a part-time Research Associate on the Tools of the Mind project.
