Richard Hall

Doctoral Student, Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations

Richard Hall is a doctoral student in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. His research interests include school counseling, organizational theories, and international comparative education. He is also currently working with his advisor, Joanne Golann, on a project examining the early-childhood influences on academic development for students with different demographic backgrounds.

Prior to beginning his studies, Richard worked as a school counselor in Durango, Colorado. Additionally, Richard has work experience in special education and with AmeriCorps. His prior experiences in educational support services led him to his current work examining school counseling programs in different parts of the country and the world. His dissertation will examine the avenues by which counselors establish their practices given the multitude of sources which influence this process.
