Doctoral Student, Leadership and Policy Studies
Sarah Kabourek is a doctoral student in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Her research focuses on early childhood education as an intervention for at-risk populations, as well as school staffing practices that may influence the implementation of school interventions or reform.
Prior to beginning at Peabody in 2014, she worked as a special education teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She taught students in grades K-8 in inclusion and resource settings. She served as compliance facilitator for her K-8 school, overseeing the development and implementation of student IEPs. Sarah came to Charlotte after serving a Princeton Project 55 Fellowship with the Campaign for Educational Equity in New York City. In that capacity she conducted research on school finance and equity.
Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, where she studied English Literature and Journalism.
