Next Steps at Vanderbilt

Class of 2020

In 2016, Next Steps at Vanderbilt expanded from a 2-year to a 4-year program. Our 2020 graduates are our first class of 4-year students. We celebrate with them and wish them all the best as this new phase of life begins.

During their time here, these eight students have furthered Vanderbilt’s inclusive excellence while gaining valuable knowledge and skills.  As the first Next Steps four-year cohort, they have been pioneers in post-secondary education for students with intellectual disabilities. In doing so, they have paved the way for others to come. We are proud of their achievement.

Camilla P. Benbow, Patricia and Rodes Hart Dean of Education and Human Development

I say BRAVO and BRAVA to our Class of 2020 graduates for your pioneering spirits, your hard work, and for the mark you are leaving on Next Steps and Vanderbilt! You have each given your all as you have completed your college program. Well done. We will be watching you and your journey on to your new “next steps.” I know you will make us proud.

-Tammy Day, Director, Next Steps at Vanderbilt
