Senior Lecturer and Program Coordinator Online Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations

The Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations (LPO) of Peabody College, Vanderbilt University, seeks a senior lecturer to coordinate and teach in Peabody College’s new online Ed.D. program in leadership and learning in organizations. This appointment is for a non-tenure track position that includes an initial 3-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

The senior lecturer will provide overall academic and program coordination and teach in the Ed.D. program in leadership and learning in organizations for Peabody Online ( Candidates must have an earned doctorate in a field of relevance to the study of leadership and organizational development. This position will include academic program coordination and teaching responsibilities. Successful candidates will have at least five years of experience in a higher education setting including academic administration, and prior successful teaching experience at the doctoral or professional level. Successful candidates will be able to work collaboratively in a complex and diverse environment with students, faculty, college leadership, and external partners, and will be highly organized, detailed oriented, with demonstrated experience in project management and expertise to teach in the online Ed.D. program. Experience in the online environment is strongly preferred.

Program administration responsibilities include but are not limited to program admissions; faculty recruitment and onboarding; curriculum coordination and development; working with immersion and capstone coordinators to ensure program alignment; developing processes for ongoing formative program quality, course review, and feedback processes to ensure quality and consistency across courses and sections; working with the university registrar and other offices to schedule synchronous class sections, immersion sessions, and other degree program activities; completing annual accreditation reporting; providing information for the professional catalogue, websites, curricula descriptions, and related responsibilities as the program evolves. The senior lecturer will be based at Vanderbilt University, and will participate in on-campus academic programs and other activities within the department.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

The department embraces multiple methodological and disciplinary approaches to the study of policies and practices that can improve outcomes for students and their families, and enhance organizational effectiveness and reform. The department operates graduate and professional programs in K-12, international, higher education, organizational leadership, and policy (including an MPP degree), as well as undergraduate tracks in leadership and organizational effectiveness, policy, and international education. These programs are ranked among the highest in the nation.
