Welcome to the Community, Development & Action M.Ed. program! We are delighted that you wish to join us in furthering your education at Peabody College. You are already part of an outstanding group - academically strong students who share a commitment to social justice and a broad array of experiences aimed at putting that commitment into action.
Our faculty work on issues such as affordable housing, health disparities, access to education, environmental sustainability, and international community development. Commitment to understanding the systemic nature of these issues and engaging the people and communities they affect as partners in creating change are core themes that unify a department diverse in interests, methodologies, and preferred avenues for activism.
We are confident that you will be successful in applying your CDA degree in pursuit of leadership roles aimed at creating positive social change. Whether your goals include immediate employment in practice or research positions after completing the program or additional graduate study, the Community Development and Action master's degree program will offer you the academic, research, and practice opportunities to meet those goals.
As you consider your next steps, please feel free to contact CDA-info@vanderbilt.edu or Dr. David Carlone (Program Director) with questions. We are eager to provide any information or support that might be helpful. We will also be glad to connect you with current students and CDA graduates who can share their experiences as Peabody professional students and beyond.
Sincerely,
David Carlone
