Dear incoming students,

Welcome to Vanderbilt University, Peabody College, and especially to the Higher Education Administration master's degree program! I serve as the director of the HEA program, and my colleagues and I are excitedthat you are joining us.

Our program exists at the nexus of research, theory, and practice and will train you to be future leaders in administration and policy in the field. You will learn from others in the cohort; have close contact with our outstanding faculty; and be afforded multiple opportunities for professional development through coursework, graduate assistantships, student employment, summer internships, and the practicum experience. You will find our program challenging but also intellectually stimulating and personally rewarding.

Please use this webpage as an information resource as you prepare to begin the program, and I will look forward to welcoming you again in the fall.

Sincerely,

What has been the highlight of your program thus far? One of the highlights has been getting to know the other members of my cohort. I was nervous to come to a smaller school after completing my undergraduate degree at a large state school, but everyone was very welcoming. We're able to work together to make sure that none of us are left behind!

What has been the highlight of your program thus far? The highlight for me in this program has been being to meet various individuals that I would have not been able to meet if I did not do the HEA program. The current HEA cohort is pretty small and we all come from different career backgrounds, ages and locations which make it even better to learn from each other.
