Welcome to Vanderbilt University, Peabody College, and especially to International Education Policy and Management (IEPM) program! I serve as the director of the IEPM. My colleagues and I are excited that you are joining us.

You will be joined by a group of exceptional peers from the United States and many countries around the world. Our program is intentionally small (approx. 20 students) to provide students with strong faculty mentoring and cohort support, and it is also highly individualized and customized to fit each student's career interest.

IEPM's core courses focus on rigorous training in education research and evaluation and equip our students with essential principles and techniques for understanding and improving education organizations and systems in diverse sociocultural settings. Students will also learn from their practicum experience and take electives, especially in the second year, from a large menu of courses offered not only by Peabody but in other schools at Vanderbilt. You will find the classroom discussions and learning to be both invigorating and rewarding in ways that will help you to grow individually and hone new skills that will open many doors for you professionally.  You will also find opportunities to participate in many dynamic campus and community events and activities.

If you have any questions as you consider accepting admission to our program, I (and other faculty members or students) would be glad to speak with you by phone or answer your questions by email. We want you to come here feeling confident that this is going to be a place where you will thrive, as we fully believe it will be!

Thank you for applying to the program and for giving us an opportunity to know you through your application materials. We can't wait to meet you in person, and we look forward to having you join us for this next phase of your academic and professional career.

Warm regards,

Xiu Cravens
