Research Assistant - Education and Brain Sciences Research Lab

Master’s Student Research Assistant positions available at Dr. Laurie Cutting’s Education and Brain Sciences Research Lab. We are currently hiring for several openings on different teams within our lab, all of which will require working directly with infants, children and/or families, and performing data collection with these groups.

Duties would include a combination of the following, depending on the role:

a) administering standardized academic and cognitive assessments to school-age students

b) implementing a reading tutoring intervention with 1st-grade struggling readers

c) working hands-on with infants and birth parents

d) acclimating participants to MRI scan procedures through mock MRI scans

e) acquiring imaging data as the console monitor during MRI scans

f) accompanying participants to mock and real MRI scans

While the current positions are for the 2024-2025 academic year, we hope to hire students who have the ability and interest to stay beyond May 2025 (subject to available funding, and provided the RA performs well and continues to meet availability requirements).

The positions are 20 hours/week and pay either

(1) 70% of 9 credit hours tuition support + $950/month student salary, or

(2) $1833/month student salary.
