ASPIRE Social Media Intern

Created in 2005, the BRET Office of Career Development ASPIRE Program provides career and professional development services and enrichment activities for PhD graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the biomedical and biological sciences. This position will further gain an understanding of program management and social media content creation in the career development office of a higher education program.

-create marketing material for programs and events

-conceptualize, create, and publish engaging content (combining both original text and images as well as text, images and content provided by the ASPIRE Team)

-create a social media content calendar -lend program support to career events

-organizing of digital files

-maintain Career Development blog, website, and social media platforms

-other duties as needed

We are looking for an undergraduate or graduate school student who can work with us Fall and Spring semesters. We also hope they have the following skills:

-excellent communicator, writer, and proofreader

-must have previous experience creating flyers and other promotional materials -must have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

-flexible, adaptable, eager, and open to new projects

-interest in biomedical science is a plus but not required. -interest in higher education is a plus but not required.

We will offer you job creativity, independence to work on projects, flexibility of schedule, and opportunities to expand on your interest in higher education administration. Skills to be developed and/or honed through the internship include:

-Program Administration

-Communication Skills

-Social Media Awareness

-Graphic Design

-Writing

This paid primarily remote position with some hours required in office. In office location is in 340 Light Hall, 2215 Garland Avenue, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TN. Hours would vary from 8-10 hours a week.
