Next Steps & PCS Graduate Assistant | |
Responsibilities: The PCS & NS graduate assistant (GA) is tasked with serving as a liaison between the two programs. The GA will work on developing increased access to university career services for students with neurodiversity in support of their career goals and professional growth and development. The GA implements communication, outreach, and programming. Projects to be completed by the GA include: • Appointments – Provide one-on-one or small group coaching sessions on the following career-related topics to students enrolled in Next Steps at Vanderbilt: o Resume building o Writing cover letters o Interview preparation o Using LinkedIn o Networking strategies • Research and Evaluation – Learn about Peabody Career Services and Next Steps at Vanderbilt and evaluate opportunities for inclusive programming • Technology – Implement an accessible online social media plan to include, LinkedIn job postings, LinkedIn group management, online course management through Brightspace, and scouting for career-related content Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to coach neurodiverse students • Excellent customer service skills to greet office visitors, work with students, and connect with employers • Interest in the field of higher education, special education, or career advising/counseling To apply: Submit a resume (and optional cover letter) to pcs@vanderbilt.edu.
