Peabody is home to some of the best educational research and is a source of continual professional development.

In my work as an early-childhood educator, I center process, creativity, and arts-in-education to improve outcomes for my students. I am specifically interested in how tools such as drama and embodiment can enrich children’s interactions with texts and cultivate social imagination. The Child Studies program provided me with a strong foundation in research-based methods to approach literacy and child development, and the flexibility of the program allowed me to explore my interests as they grew and took new shape. My advisor and professors helped me craft a program of study integrating literacy, children’s theatre, and creativity. I am deeply grateful for the knowledge, experiences, and community I found through Peabody!

The combination of research and a focus on community involvement sets Peabody apart from other programs and has helped me to stay connected to the Peabody community as an alumna. Peabody is home to some of the best educational research and is a source of continual professional development.
