About
Nina Martin completed her doctoral degree in Human Development and Psychology at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education in 1998. Upon graduation, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Developmental Psychopathology at Vanderbilt University, followed by a post as a research assistant professor at the Institute of Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Returning to Vanderbilt in 2006, she teaches both in the Human Development Counseling Master’s program, where she trains students in the clinical mental health and school counseling tracks, and in the Child Studies Master’s program, where she has directed the Empirical Research Track since 2013. Her research interests include adolescent depression, longitudinal research methods, and the design and application of school- and community-based intervention and prevention efforts to enhance the well-being of children, adolescents, and families.
