Lauren Covelli is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Leadership, Policy, & Organizations at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. She is interested in researching K-12 accountability policies, specifically, defining and measuring school quality. Her current research projects with Dr. Sean P. Corcoran involve New York City middle school and high school choice. Her other current work includes projects on the Every Student Succeeds Act and the Texas charter school sector.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Lauren taught high school math in Oakland, CA and worked in K-8 charter school leadership in Bridgeport, CT. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s in Social Welfare and Education from UC Berkeley and a Master’s in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University.
