Peabody International Students and Affairs (PISA) is a part of the Dean’s Office. PISA aims to strengthen Peabody’s cross-cultural research, teaching, and service by leading international initiatives, developing collaborations with peer institutions abroad, and promoting critical educational conversations and scholarly exchange on campus and around the globe. PISA also serves as the point of contact for all academic programs and administrative offices to better serve Peabody’s growing number of international students who make a strong contribution to the sociocultural diversity of the Peabody learning community.
As the assistant director, the main focus of Ms. Wu’s work is to address the needs of international students. She collaborates with department chairs, program directors, and branches of the Peabody Dean’s Office that provide student services and academic support. She serves as the liaison for university offices such as International Student and Scholar Services, the English Language Center, and the University Counseling Center to coordinate services and resources for Peabody international students. Ms. Wu also supports PISA’s international grants and projects as needed.
Before joining Peabody Dean’s Office, Ms. Wu served as the associate program manager in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Vanderbilt University. She established and developed four initiatives (VUGlobalCitizens, AAPI, InclusAbility, and MilitaryVU) and facilitated four Employee Affinity Groups (International, Asian American Pacific Islanders, Disability and Chronic Health Condition, and Military and Veteran). As one of the two main hosts of International Education Week for two consecutive years, she collaborated with more than 20 offices and organizations across the university to raise awareness of the importance of international education. She led the Vanderbilt’s international student participation in the city-wide Celebrate Nashville event along with other peer schools. She is also the planner of the annual Graduates Recognition Celebration for international students at Vanderbilt.
Ms. Wu has more than 10 years of experience in study abroad, language training, business analytics, and international entrepreneurship. She earned her M.Ed. in International Education Policy and Management (IEPM) from Vanderbilt in 2021.
