PRO supports faculty in identifying potential funding opportunities in a number of ways. The Peabody Research Office sends announcements of internal, external, and federal funding opportunities that may be of relevance to the Peabody community. These opportunities can be found in the monthly PRO Newsletter.
The Vanderbilt Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) manages Limited Submission Opportunities (LSO). Limited Submission Opportunities are external funding opportunities where sponsors limit the number or types of applications Vanderbilt can submit, either as pre- or full proposals. Please consult the application instructions for the listed LSO.
Vanderbilt uses InfoEd SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network) as its funding opportunity database. SPIN offers over 40,000 funding opportunities from more than 10,000 global sponsors, and the information is updated daily. Faculty are encouraged to create an individualized profile that will enable them to track funding opportunities that are tailored to their individual needs and areas. First time users will need to create their SPIN profile to match their searches with their research interest.
The Vanderbilt Research Development & Support works with individual faculty to assist with identifying potential funding sources. They may also assist in the writing of proposals. They publicize funding opportunities on their website.
PRO has also compiled a list of potential foundations that offer funding that may be relevant to Peabody Researchers and have funded Peabody faculty in the past. This list is not exhaustive, and is only meant to provide a place to start your search.
The university also offers a number of Vanderbilt Internal Awards open to faculty. Similarly, the college offers a number of Peabody Internal Awards that are open to Peabody researchers.

PRO has curated a selection of funded research proposals provided by Peabody faculty that you can use to help improve your proposal. We ask that you do not share these materials outside of the college. If there are materials that we do not have, please feel free to contact us and we will work to find exemplary materials for you.
