Vanderbilt University Community Relations – Graduate Assistant Position Summary: The graduate assistant role is a member of the Division of Government and Community Relations at Vanderbilt University, specifically working with the Community Relations Team. This position is open to undergraduates, though preference will be given to professional and graduate students. Apply for the position here: https://redcap.link/crgradassistant25 The graduate assistant/ student worker will have the following responsibilities: • Facilitate projects that include: • Assist with implementation technology platform to facilitate university community engagement and volunteer opportunities • Data management and research related to university departmental community involvement • Campus-mapping of current university community engagement efforts • Assist with community events, engage with community-based organizations and university partners • Attend select meetings and events • Assist members of the team with various reports and projects, as needed Key Functions and Expected Performance: • Demonstrate an interest in community engagement, the nonprofit sector, and philanthropy • Ability to research, organize and synthesize data • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism with an ability to appropriately manage sensitive information • Strong writing and critical thinking skills are necessary • Ability to work both independently on projects and collaborate with team members in a hybrid environment Expected hours and compensation • 15-20 hours/per week (schedule to be determined based upon applicant and team needs) • Pay is commensurate with student status and experience For more information, please contact Sr. Director of Community Relations, Kathleen Fuchs Hritz, at kathleen.hritz@vanderbilt.edu Complete position description. |
