Job Title: Industry Pathways Graduate Assistant

Reports To: The GA will report to the Next Steps Director of Career Development for day-to-day assignments and projects and the Peabody Career Services Director for HR processes.

Status/Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week. May include some evening hours.

Starts in August 2025.

Pay Rate: This position pays $16/hour and will receive the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Endowed Scholarship to cover 3 credits of tuition per semester.

Responsibilities: The Industry Pathways Graduate Assistant (GA) is tasked with serving as a liaison for Next Steps at Vanderbilt with both the Peabody Career Services office and the Vanderbilt Career Center. The GA will work on developing increased access to university career services for neurodiverse students in support of their career goals and professional growth and development.

The GA implements communication, outreach, and programming. Projects to be completed by the GA include:

  • Supporting students in connecting with Peabody Career Services and Career Center events and resources 
  • Providing individual career counseling in alignment with the coaching guidance offered by Peabody Career Services and the Career Center 
  • Building out an alumni career support structure in accordance with the Career Center’s alumni support procedures, and 
  • Adapting Career Center resources to ensure accessibility for neurodiverse students 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to coach neurodiverse students 
  • Excellent communication skills to work with students and connect with employers 
  • Interest in the field of higher education, special education, or career advising/counseling
