Research Assistants for Kindergarten Math Study

The Barnes Research Lab (Dr. Marcia Barnes, Principal Investigator) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic research assistant to join our lab. The lab is conducting a large-scale research study testing the effects of combined mathematics and attention interventions for improving math learning in kindergarten children at high risk for developing math learning disabilities. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) paid position. Compensation includes a 70% tuition waiver (up to 9 hours of Peabody College courses) and a monthly stipend of $950. The position will be supervised by Dr. BrittanyLee Martin.

This assistantship requires you to have a personal car to drive to and from schools in the greater Nashville metropolitan area. You must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage. Reimbursement for travel is provided. Applicant must have at least 4 mornings (8 am - noon) and 4 afternoons (noon - 4 pm) of availability to work during normal school hours each week.

The RA will assist with conducting various research protocols, while assuring integrity and quality of the research is maintained and is conducted in accordance with Vanderbilt Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, federal and sponsor regulations and guidelines, Vanderbilt Policy and Procedure, and Barnes Lab research protocols. The RA will independently implement research protocols to assure study-related procedures are performed as required and objectives and timelines.
