Office of Communications

The Peabody Office of Communications supports the college's strategic efforts through planning, production, and dissemination of various types of media to strengthen Peabody's reputation and positioning among graduate schools of education. Our team provides strategic advice and service for leadership communications; graduate and professional student recruitment; dissemination of research findings and research project activity; faculty, student, alumni and staff news; faculty and staff awards nominations; and signature events. How You Can Request Help

Events@Peabody and Calendar Guidance

Events@Peabody is sent each Monday to Peabody faculty and staff. It focuses primarily on academic or academic-adjacent events.

If your event pertains primarily to academics or research:

To be included, your event must be posted to the Vanderbilt events calendar (https://events.vanderbilt.edu/) and tagged “peabody.” There is a form to do this at https://events.vanderbilt.edu/submit/. Events@Peabody also includes events of broad interest across the Peabody community—faculty, staff and students.

If your event is mostly student focused, co-curricular or social:

The Peabody Office of Student Life (PSL) now produces a weekly e-newsletter, StudentLIFE@Peabody, that lists events of primary interest to students. That newsletter, which is sent to students, faculty and staff, includes all events sponsored by PSL or by approved Peabody student organizations.

These are drawn primarily from the university’s AnchorLink calendar (https://anchorlink.vanderbilt.edu/), which tends to be the go-to source for students. PSL is also working to include events of interest to students that appear only on the university events calendar in its newsletter.

Not sure where to post?

Our recommendation to academic departments and research centers is that you should always include your events on the university events calendar, regardless of intended audience. This will ensure that your event is included in Events@Peabody and in automated calendar feeds on the Peabody website.

If your event involves a student organization, you may also wish to post it to AnchorLink. This can only be done by approved organizations or administrative units. Once you establish approval you can post events and invite people. To register an organization, visit https://anchorlink.vanderbilt.edu/organizations.
