Research Assistant Professor, Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations
Marisa Cannata is a Senior Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University and director of the National Center on Scaling Up Effective Schools. Dr. Cannata has experience overseeing both large longitudinal surveys and qualitative research projects. Dr. Cannata's substantive expertise focuses on high school reform, school choice, teacher quality and career decisions, teacher work experiences, and professional community. She is the co-editor of School Choice and School Improvement, published by Harvard Education Press and has recently published in Education Finance and Policy, Educational Administration Quarterly, The Elementary School Journal, and Teachers College Record. Dr. Cannata has a Ph.D. in Educational Policy from Michigan State University.
