Scott Crossley

Professor, Department of Special Education

Scott Crossley is a professor of special education whose research focuses on using data science and artificial intelligence to explore cognition, with an emphasis on natural language processing. Crossley is excited by the opportunities computational linguistics affords for better understanding and engaging student success in the classroom and looks forward to collaborating with the communities at Peabody College and the Vanderbilt Data Science Institute.

Crossley recently served as professor of applied linguistics and computer sciences at Georgia State University. He received his Ph.D. in English and linguistics and M.A. in linguistics from the University of Memphis in 2006 and 2002, respectively. He holds a B.A. in history from California State University of Northridge.
